MT ET Street Radials+Stock axles=disaster

I have the chance to pick up some MT ET Street Radials mounted on Bullitt rims for a decent price. I have stock rear axles/dif, and 4.10's. My question was whether or not these street radials will have enough hook to snap my stock axles or blow up my differential. I dont really want to be doing 5000 rpm clutch drops. So, would it be possible to run these tires, and get more hook then my P-Zero Neros, and still be safe with the rear. Or would it simply bog and ruin my times?

Launching with any high traction tire can destroy your rearend. Some do it more quickly than others, but they'll all do it eventually. Another thing to take into consideration.....the stock control arm bushings absorb more of the stress caused by launching, so you having aftermarket control arms I'd be ready to invest in a rearend rebuild/upgrade.

Excellent, accurate post. You'll break something sooner or later...no real way to guess when it'll happen, but it will happen with the stock axles.

Yup.. 5k clutch dumps is the quickest way to do it for sure, happened to a guy I know with 4.10s. If the price is awesome enough I'd go ahead and buy them but then do the upgrade to your rear.

Thats what i would wish to do. Only I cant afford to do the whole rear at the moment. The deal is something like this maybe: 2 Bullitt rims + 2 ET streets with 30 miles on them of street duty for possibly sub 400...

not bad, I got my nittos + 17" bullitt rims for $355 shipped they were only used a couple times
