Ok need to quiet the stang down a bit, it's a little over the top. The red paint job is attracting way too much attention, and the exhaust isn't helping. I have 3" pipes with turndowns before the axle and 50 series NONdelta flows (old type). I'm not really interested in going with tailpipes out to the back, would rather keep the pipes under the car to keep it looking clean. Looking at Magnaflows, Hooker Aerochambers, or Bassanis. Conern with the magnaflows is how the sound will change with time as the material burns up inside, Bassanis just seem impossible to locate and I don't know enough about the Aerochambers (mustangs and fords June issue didn't review).

Or other ideas? Bassani techs were telling me about installing some baffles, but I'm not sure how that's going to work.

I have 50 series delta flow and they are not that loud. They do exit out the back though. I switched from the 40 series because they would make you grit your teeth through certain rpm's. I searched for a while and listened to many sound bytes before I settled on the flowmasters. The delta flow series seems to be quieter.

Tailpipes make a HUGE difference in sound, so I would be conservative in muffler choice.

Agreed, but short of going with a 70 series flow, I'm not sure I have many options.

Anyone have any good ideas for tailpipes? Pics?

You can still put tail pipes on the car and keep it looking clean, there is no need to dump right behind the muffler. The red one on the left has full pipes on it, they have turn downs just behind the valance and are tuched up behind the valance so you don't actually see the pipes unless you squat down and look when next to the car....the bottom of the turn down is about 1/2 lower than the bottom of the valance.

Or you could go HIGH profile like the one on the right
