I have a pair of Flowmaster's on a 91 5.0 LX for the last 8 years. I am going to switch to something less noisy (Droning) at crusing speed.

My question is this.

Did the original factory mufflers have a center entry with an offset exit?

Thanks for your help.

Nope they where both offset entry and exit 2 1/4" pipes.If I where you I would go with a dynomax after-cat system ,same growl as the flowmaster but without the drone

i was wondering the same thing. i hate the drone at 2 grand while crusing. esp long trips. i'm looking into the dynomax but wasn't sure which one would kill the sound level. the flowmasters were great till i got to this point.

i wish mine were louder...i have the Hooker Aerochambers with NO drone, though i have an exhaust leak probably thanks to the BBK headers

Which flows do you have? I have flows on my stroker and no drone at any RPM. That's odd.
