I had to replace my transmission and wanted to know what other parts can be replaced and checked on while this is out??? or what other parts on a mustang wear out about the same time the tranny goes out ?
i'd hate to have to replace something in 2 months that can be replaced now
any info will be helpful thanks

Might want to check your universal joints...they're often overlooked. Check the flexplate to be sure you didn't bend it on removal. You can get a good look at the rear main seal of the engine, too. If you ever considered a higher stall converter, this would be a good time to do that change.

This is assuming that you have an automatic tranny... Disregard all except rear main, if you have a manual.

A new or rebuilt torque converter is a must. A stall is OK if you like them. The previous history and use of the trans should be considered in a rebuild. If the old trans died a miserable death, be prepared is spend additional $$$.

Ford trans missions are generally vert durable and reliable.

a shifter can be changed while you have more room to work with, and while your linkage is disconnected
