Everybody clearly knows that the Mustang has always been, currently is, and always will be America's favorite car. Last time I checked there were no Dodge Chargers, Camaros, Firebirds or Plymouth Hemi-Cudas still in production. What does that tell you? Mustangs are still as, if not more popular today than they've ever been. Long live the Stang.

The Mustang, Camaro, etc. shouldn't be on that list, because the Mustang isn't a muscle car. it's a PONY CAR.

The main reason those muscle cars are no longer here is not because of a populaity contest. In was the gas shortages in the 70's that had mainfacturs cutting back on muscle cars. Also the fact the gorvenment was up in arms about polution, they was giving breaks to large oil companies to crush cars from your Camraos to Mach 1s back then just to get a break. Then you had that same guy who played a roll in ending the SVO department now in charge of Crysler/dodge. Now Ford does have good will with the people but they like Chevy are falling to forign automakers which I worked for Ford so I know. My stocks have been like crap for 5 years now and not looking better. Our local dealer only carries 2-3 stangs half the times and our sister city is about the same. Now out of a total of 250,000 pop area thats not a lot of stangs. These forgin cars are the number one reason why Chevy is stoping production of the Camaro. If you think it want happen to Mustang I hope your right because Camaros has been around a few years less and and look what happened to them. As for popularity contest well lets say GM/Olds/Buick was making cars before Herry Thought about it. I want to say its Ols that OVER a 100 years old

I see your point. That is why that post depressed the hell out of me. However, am I mistaken in saying that In the 2000's Mustangs sold more than they ever have? I thought I read that in a magazine but I could be wrong.

Most of that stuff I read in HotRod mags years ago, where people was going to these oil companies to try and save really cool cars. One of the cars they was talking about saving was a Chevy II S.S. They probly did have a really good year but I can't say since it may before my time there. Now when Camaro goes under they probly will pick up some new Ford guys I'm just afraid that when the time comes to buy my son a car there wan't be any of the original american cars like the Mustang and Camaros I'm pro American cars whether its a Camaro or a Mustang But I blame the big three for some of the ground lost to the forign car makers. They should have gotton cars like the new Cavaler and SRT-4 out back in the mid 90's. That is one persons depressed as you are a opinion
