Has anyone else noticed the number of muscle cars lately? On my hill in downtown Seattle, I have seen, in the past two weeks:

- a blue 1970 351 Mach 1
- a gorgeous powder-blue Oldsmobile 442 (with a kid driving it who's got to be in high school, still)
- a silver Dodge Dart 440
- a red '67 El Camino
- a black '67 Stang in the process of restoration
- a pro-street God-Knows-What, black fastback with huge tires
- a pro-street Charger, red, with Mickeys and an insane cam
- a flat-black Dodge Charger with a rockabilly guy driving
- a red '68 Chevelle with tinted windows and a tech slip from SIR in the rear wing window

There were none of these cars around last year, at least that I'd seen. I've also been noticing more muscle on the roads around here. Is this the new thing? Replacing rice? Thumbing our noses at gas prices? Guess I'm a trendsetter. . . .

Its that time of the year when all the nice cars come out of the woodwork. Its good to hear that the "nice" cars are back on the roads. I havent noticed a whole lot of muscle cars out, but that Saleen S7 has been lurking around here lately.

As the rice kids are growing up they are getting good jobs and can now afford V8 insurance Or, you can thank Spike TV and the Horsepower block (of which I watch religiously).

I guess there's PINKS, too. Whatever it is, it sure is nice to see actual muscle out there. Especially here in crunchy granola Prius / bicyclist hell.

Whereabouts are you? Queen Anne?

I have yet to see other muscle out on the street with regular frequency. However this past weekend I was in Bremerton and ran into the Kitsap Mustang Club at the local Autozone showin' -good guys.

Fremont. Then again, I wouldn't expect tree hugging hippies to be driving around in a bent-eight

Saw a yellow convertible Falcon yesterday, also on my hill, that had a nice V8 rumble to it. The girl driving looked like she was college-age. It's so nice to see the kids in nice cars.
