I am looking at purchasing a 1968 Mustang that is in the Silver Frost color. My concern is I am not finding any information to show Silver Frost was a standard color in 1968, however, it was a standard color in 1967. Any ideas as to how this could be? The VIN shows 68, and the owner says it is the original color from what he knows.

What is the color code in the door jamb? Could be a special order, I had a neighbor who has a bright pink '67 coupe she bought new.

Sorry for the delay, had to get the VIN from the seller. I am not sure what the color code is. (8R01C139178) Not sure where in the number it would be. Thanks for your help.

The color isn't in the VIN, it's on the warranty tag on the door. Silver Pearl and Pewter Mist were offered on the Thunderbird, and 'Bird colors were typically offered at extra cost on the Mustang. Your Marti report should indicate the color.
