Have any of you guys seen the new (I think) magazine titled "Musatng Enthusiast" http://www.mustangenthusiast.com/ ? They have an article about putting "mini tubs" into a 67-70 mustang. The article isn't very clear and the pictures lack much detail. It is pretty simple project I know but I was confused by a few things and was hoping someone here could shed some light on it for me. It sounds like they didn't move the whole wheel housing inboard to the frame rail, just the bottom and added a pie shaped piece at the rear.

They probably did that so they wouldn't have to mess with the trunk hinge bracket. I've explained this procedure before, in detail, I wished we had archives. I plan on doing this modification to my own '65 in the future and plan on taking lots of photos in the process. I'd be cool if I could sell the story to a magazine, then after it's been a couple of months, put it on the 'net for everyone for free.

magazines really dont pay for stories(ive tried)

What i dont get is if you move the inner fender,what about the leaf springs???Was the magazine gonna do a 4 link?Its very tempting and i thought about it also years ago,just looking at the car is self explanitory of what has to be done.

Crawling under my 70, it was clear to me that tubing the rear actually won't give you much more room for tires. Well, not unless you also relocate your leaf springs...

I understand that. This particular article just dealt with moving the inner fender to be flush with the subframe rail. That's one reason I was a little confused. It seems like a bunch of work for not much benefit.

On my '66 vert, we moved the leaf mounts and re-constructed a rear end...enough space to allow a 17 x 11 wheel under the stock sheetmetal.

If I had it to do again, I'd go to Martz and simply buy his rearend, which is going to perform better than mine...I came across his stuff just after we did the relocate.
