Mine is a base. There are several things that are different. It doesn't have the lit "Mustang" in the door opening, no courtesy light in the footwell or cupholder, and no ability to customize the display colors. The dash is simplified, with a more plain-Jane look to the gauge faces. The premium package gets a couple more gauges, voltmeter I think and something else. I only have fuel and temp.

No complaints on my part. The car fills my needs and makes me happy. The premium does make the car a lot nicer inside, but even in the cheapo version I still have one-touch power windows. Nice!

Mine is so base it had only one option - the 3.73 rear axle. It's so spartan even the trunk lid is devoid of any kind of spoiler. But that's ok. I bought it this way on purpose. MSRP was under $31K, and this is as light a GT as I can get. Headed to the CAT scales in the next day or so to get an exact figure on how much it weighs.

As for the seats, so far I've found them to be pretty comfortable and supportive. The base car is just fine, but buyers of the premium are getting a nicer interior for their money. Which is the way it should be.

i bought the base package cause i knew i would change everyhting on it ! The only thing I miss NOT having is the My color package. I found a set of 2011 leathers on line for seats for 300 bucks but other than that the car is just fine ! Didnt see paying an extra 2 or 3 grand for crap i can find on ebay or the forums for 10 times cheaper !

I wish ford would allow you to add the other options without having to pay for the leather!! Thats what keeping me from buying the mustang. Gonna wait for 2012, maybe they will change the options some. My current car has leather and I hate it in the summer. So far my ambient temp guage has read 130 degrees. And thats with window tint. Live in the southwest so its HOT.

I got the base GT with 3.73 gears as the only option.I've allways liked the plane Jane Mustang with lots of performance mods instead of Luxury and comfort options.

If Ford offered a LX 5.0 like my old 91 notch I would have got one. This car is like a premium GT to me compared to my old Fox 5.0 Mustangs

I'm so old school I just hooked up my 6 year old Sirius stream jockey reciever to the base radio and now I have Sirius.I cant beleive this car cost 27K with this kind of power bone stock.I did xplan with the $750 coupon and $500 from Ford.

Well what I want for options is Sync, Hids, and the security pkg you have to get if you want Hids. and 3.55 gears with leather steering wheel. Plus the upgraded sport wing with the 18's.

Check out this link to Fords website. Scroll to bottom where there are pictures of Ford vehicles. Click on the Mustang to see the special offers available. You will have to enter your zip code. I confirmed this with my dealer today!

You're asking if I would have considered a nicely optioned '10 instead of a base model '11?

No.

THIS!

Unfortunately, I already got my GT. I am regretting the leather, but not the Bluetooth, steering wheel, ambient lighting, and Shaker 500 that are part of that option group. It's a trade off that cost me unnecessary $$.

Why are you regretting the leather I love leather, plus I have to have a leather steering wheel. How do you like the Shaker 500 compared to the G35 Bose system you were looking at?

The $1000 and 0% is on the 2010s.. Like I said .. They are some crazy deals out there on the 2010s ... Ford really wants them gome.. Most of the ones I seen on the net, going to the Dealership sites, are 3.73 5 speed cars ..

Looks great, I like the Plain Jane look also.
How much was the .373 option?

Anyone here have pics of the base interior?

Thanks.

The base mustangs are great. My wife's GT is a base and is still light years ahead of my 04 GT as far as interior and features. The dealer switched her seats to leather for no cost. The premium is nice but we would rather spend the couple of grand on something else.
