Mustang Honeycomb Trim Panel

where can i find rear molding for my mustang cheapest? im looking at this:

$200 seems a bit steep for me though. where else can i find this for cheap? or should i just paint that part of my car black? anyone have any suggestions?

I'm with ya on the whole high price thing. I think it looks awesome though! I'll probably pick one up after I finish the last of my performance mods - which will be at the end of July.

i was looking at some older threads and i think im just gonna paint it. my car is in the process of getting repainted so im just gonna get that part of the car painted a matte black.

my car is a laser red and i think the contrast looks awesome. i also have some black mustang bumper insert letters waiting in the wings. =]

anyone got some pics of a red mustang with the black back?

I agree with paint route...I hate the honeycomb look.I thought of doing my Mach with the painted way,they wanna charge me $125 for all the work for matte black.But I came across a good deal for some Matte black graphics vinyl,$10 for a 24"x10' roll.I cut it myself and installed it and I have never done anything like this before and it came out good i think.I figured why not for $10 and about an 1 1/2 of my time.

Sorry for bad cell pics but i havent bought a new camera...I took these back in april.

That's what I'm doing. I have a friend that owns a sign business and he's going to hook me up with a sheet of black vinyl. That with the black Mustang inserts, and my black spoiler (a take off from my friend's 01) and it should look pretty good. I just need a chin spoiler and some lowering springs now.

The only way that I was able to get this on right was to do it in 5 pieces,a piece for each area with the emblems,then 1 big piece behind the plate and a piece on each angled part.The I just used a homemade solution to spay on the keep the vinyl workable and used bondo/body type squeeges.Then for the area that the vinyl curved around on I just used a hair dryer and a damp paper towel to form it around...no bubbles or anything since I did this in April.

some bottled water + rubbing alcohol + some dish soap = a great solution for installing vinyl. I used that when replacing my hood stripes and the rear bumper inserts. It stays workable for several minutes as long as the car is not hot/in the sun.

That's the only way I could see being able to do it, 5 pieces. It looks to complicated to make any less the 5.

IMO, don't like the honeycomb. If your gonna do it paint it, and it will look a hundred times better.
