I like to have a chilton, haynes and any other manual for cars I plan to keep or work on alot - they all have their good points and bad points - chilton I think is a bit light on detail needed - haynes is a bit better but keep going and get a set of factory manuals and a few other good reading books like Ford Fuel Injection (Probst) and some of the others - I read them cover to cover and keep them forever for reference when needed.

I have a chilton and it's pretty good, but like bsedwebt70-5.0 said it can be a little light on details.

I have both Haynes & Chilton manuals.
The Chilton manual has more in the emissions/fuel injection area. The Haynes has more help in some of the assembly/disassembly areas.

All fall short compared to the knowledge which JR shares with us.
