Here's a book that will get you started with how the Ford electronic engine control or "computer" works.

Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control 1988-1993 by Charles Probst :ISBN 0-8376-0301-3.

It's about $20 from Borders.com see http://www.amazon.com/ . Select boo...com or bigger book stores should have them...

thanks jrichker. The reason I decided i should get a manual is today my dad and I were out trying to install the fuel pressure, oil pressure, and water temp guages i got for xmas. Lets just say the gauges are installed in the car but not hooked up to function yet.

p.s. I do have to say it looks pretty bad ass having the fuel pressure guage mounted outside on the cowl

If you need timely assistance, we've beat all of those installs mercilessly in here before. And if something's not covered, I don't think you'll go long without getting some assistance.

Good luck.

Here are links to all the ones I own. the first two are great for a beginner.
They will show you every step by step for all the basic bolt on and upgrade.

They show everything from how to tune the car for max performance to the popular performance parts and bolt-ons.

You don't need to get them from summit, I pick all of these up at the local book store,Borders, Barn&Noble or what ever is in your area.

great for a beginner:

These books still show the basics but also get alittle more into the bigger projects
