Ive got a 1990 GT I just finished building, currently has a Holly 750 among a buch of other mods done to it. My problem is I need a throttle cable. I recently bought a 1985 Mustang GT cable and bracket, but the bracket won't fit the base of the carb, and the cable had a square end on each side and the pedal end won't even fit through the firewall. I just want to get this car done, what cable setup do I need to do???? Any one have one they will sell me??? Anyone want to buy the cable and bracket I just bought and cant use??? All input is welcome, keep in mind Im trying to get this done ASAP and also not trying to spend alot of money doing so.

I have fabbed a lot of stuff on my mod fox I am building right now. All I can say is, if it doesn't fit through the firewall, drill the hole larger. Sears has really nice hole saws that cut metal...in many different sizes. As far as the cable to the carb...isn't there any type of bracket you could buy/make to bolt it up?

Well I dont mind fabbing anything up, Im just trying to get this done by bolting in rather than busting out a TIG, MIG and PLASMA, especially considering I need the car there to test for fitment, and the fab shop is 20 miles from car and the car cant move.......So any other info will be great.. Thx Chris

A Dremel tool with a grinder attachment worked perfectly for me when I had to enlarge the hole for a firewall adjuster to fit into the stock hole on Frankenstang's 1980 Capri. (I guess the later models had a bigger hole for the clutch cable...? ) Maybe give that a shot before you go hunting for new parts...

Throttle Cable not clutch cable, entirely different. **Solution - the 82 GT cable I got is different than the 85 gt, The stock 85 GT cable that you can get from advance is a direct bolt in with they're adjustable bracket and both can be purchased new for $45. Took some research but I figured it out. To me a direct bolt in to fix this without any fab work using brand new parts for under $50 is a freaking steal. Thankx Chris
