my buddy has a small coolant leak from his manifold, and after a month or so, it gets water down in the spark plug hole, and it will miss.........

It could be o2 sensors. I thought i had a miss a while back but it was just my upstream o2 sensors going out

i would check the intake manifold if it doesn't have the aluminum crossover. i had an cracked intake and it was bogging down my motor. look for leaks under the intake manifold and like someone said before check the spark plug nearest the thermostat for coolant.

other than that, try cleaning the IAC on the throttle body with carb cleaner.

I had the same problem with my 96 and after going thru a couple sets of spark plug wires the problem was solved. Not to rule out the cracked intake. These cars are very sensitive to water around the spark plug ports.

definitly sounds like your upstream o2 sensors, question though, any codes. because o2 sensors will definitly throw codes. but im like the others, ive had the intake prob. and its no fun. easy to change but rather expensive.

1. Drive to Autozone of discount or what ever is close to you.
2. Have them scan your OBD II for free
3. If you have codes start trouble shooting from there.
4. it may be your MAF so you can clean that. be CAREFUL doing this because the coating is sensitive so you do not want to use brakeclean or anything like that. you should be safe with carb cleaner or some places carry MAF cleaner

ditto upstream sensors, I just replaced mine and problem missing and hesitation went away... $32 each at RockAuto dot com. Swap your fuel filter while you are at it

Do NOT use carb cleaner on your MAF under any circumstances.

Buy Electrical Parts Cleaner.... like $5 for a can an AutoZone. ONLY use electrical cleaner... it doesn't leave any residue on the MAF that would mess with it. The MAF is very sensitive... don't break it, they are expensive.

You had the right idea about the o2 sensors but your replaced the wrong ones.... you should have swapped the upstream. Your fuel economy will improve and the hesitation should stop. Mine were ash-gray when I pulled them out.

My 02 GT vert w/ 100k miles had no codes but after I swapped the sensors it ran a lot better.

Mine was doing that and it was the throttle position sensor. Works great now.

TPS would only do it under acceleration, +1 up on the carb cleaner dont even think about it, they make a maf cleaner for like 7 bucks, do it
