Picked up a local broken/disassembled T5 for free. Don’t need it, but figured it was good for parts. I might have enough parts on hand to assemble two T5s.

Will I? Eh I dunno. Might be worth it to sell them off to fund a TKO

If you can build them without having to buy a $400 rebuild kit then I would do it.

Where do you advertise them at locally? I would like to find a good home for the T5 (and everything else) but FB market place is a show.

Don't until they release parts for them.... Amp, claims to be working on some... Down side of tremecs line is when they move to the next versions they kill off replacement parts for the old one... 3550/tko stuff is getting to be a pita for certain parts. I still have 3 of them and keep the old gears and sliders just so they can be faceplated and reused when the dog teeth get damaged.

Its why I'm avoiding the tkx for now, next new trans I buy will be a t56..

I'm told it's hard to get parts for old school T56s, though, which is what I have in all 3 of my cars.

Word of mouth to people I know. My BIL has a fox now, and needed a trans so I sold him one I had done. TBH they got way too expensive to rebuild now. A rebuild kit plus Z-spec gearset is most of the way to just buying yourself a brand new T5Z with a warranty.

These T5s are worth more in parts on eBay vs being salvaged and rebuilt.

And yes, FB is a show. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve met some fantastic folks on there, but I’ve also met a few folks that just make me shake my head.

Finally got around to redoing my pump with new Tezfel 10 gauge wiring. Had to modify the connector to accept 10 gauge wiring. Now off to run the wiring in the vehicle

Ok. Finally warmed up enough and melted enough snow that I could spend some time in the garage.

Proceeded to run my circuit from the battery to rear, which wasn’t fun. Had to pull some interior apart, along with drivers wheel and fender liner to snake the wire. Just didn’t feel like doing this during the dead cold of winter, but temps are better now.

Wiring tied direct to battery terminals. Fuse mounted under the dash next to the fuse box. Wire routed along the sill all the way to the rear. Definitely getting too old for crawling around inside a car.

So anyway. Wires to the rear. Need to plan out where I’m mounting my relay, and where I’m poking my bulkhead connector through the floor to get the plug to the fuel tank. I also am worried I am going to be short wire and need to get some more. This is #10 TXL

Stopped here for now to come up with my plan

Ok circuit is run and functional. Didn't put the tank back in yet. Gonna set it up on the ground, wirenut the wires into the pump and hook up the lines and give it a test.

I want to make sure this solved my issue before I put the tank back up. If it doesn't, my next play is to order a new pump.

The delay getting to this point was more to do with weather. Been a rough cold winter. That's over now so back to wrenching.

Just for testing.

Final assembly will be a weatherpak connector all crimped up with the wiring cut as short as possible. I just don’t want to do that now so I can leave the wires long and not have the tank directly under the car while I test

If this doesn’t work I might hit you up for that pump just to verify it is the pump. Crossing my finger this is it.

Ok all set to go. Wirenutted up for quick measure

Tested the circuit/pump and everything seems good to go.

Went to toss gas in and realized I used it for the snowblower this winter, so need to fill up my 5 gal jug to add some gas to the tank. So likely we will see if this did the trick this weekend

Hmm..this might be the ticket here. I wanted a 17” wheel, but liked my cosmis wheel design.

I wonder how a set of 8”/9” gunmetal would look?
