I agree with Fast Driver. I’ve been in this forum for 7-8 years, I’ve never understood why you don’t really drive your car @Mustang5L5.

You are right. I need to do better.

Problem is, a nice day, hour to spare. I look in the garage and usually pick the convertible. I am driving a car, just not the one folks prefer. I'm out at noon today. It's 75 degrees out. Kiddo requested I pick him up from school in the convertible. It's a more practical choice given I park it anywhere without concern, can sit in traffic, not too loud, etc.

But you are right. I will try and make 2027 different for the car. I think i'm 95% where I need to be for tuning, so time to start using it

It's all in the tune. When the fox tune gets dialed in it will be every bit as smooth as your SN95.

At first I was like "they're right." But then I realized this is a hobby and we use it to fill different buckets. If you've enjoyed making your car what it is then you didn't go too far. It was just a way to unplug from reality for a bit.
That's probably an incoherent ramble but its how I justify what I do with my car.

It's not so much that, vs what i can do with the car. With my SN95, i can take it to work. Take it to home depot, take it to my kids school and park it and not worry about it. I can use it practically. If it sits outside and gets dirty, oh well. If i get rear-ended...that's what insurance is for.

With the Fox. I won't leave it anywhere or park it anywhere where i'm not right next to it. I take it out to cruise around and then put it back. I have Haggerty for insurance on that to get my agreed value and they have more restrictions on what I can do with the car, so pretty much I just take it out for a nice cruise, and then go put it back.

I'd say with how crazy busy I am lately, i need a car more for the first scenario. I think as time goes on and I can relax more, i'll be able to do the 2nd.

Either way, i'm not selling the car so don't worry about that.

I appreciate all the types of folks we have here, I wouldn't assume or impose my ways on anyone.
That being said I've daily drove my stang since the purchase (7/7/07) I did the upgrades I wanted myself and if it got rear ended I'd cry, literally cry.
Whatever car I had I modified myself and drove it daily, never had an interest in a rare collectable because I know I'd ruin its value.
Ill do me, y'all do yous.

This is why I all ways keep 1 as a beater. I finally got tired of looking at a half gray fender on my 93 and all the spot work with epoxy primer where the factory paint failed or started to rust ... Its mostly all white now, tiger striped to hell lol, going to let fresh spray bomb cure, scuff with a green pad on a da and do it again, as long as the car looks semi flat white and keeps it from rusting its good enough for now lol. I did that along with the cowl to clean up the rust forming and a new wiper motor to replace the failed cardone reman. The paint supplies, good and expensive body shop spray can of epoxy primer to cover bare steel, the paint the cheapest quick color $2.50 wally world gloss white lol. I plan to change the whole front clip and rear bumper when its time for a real paint job and its easy enough to strip.

My red cars like yours, too much sentimental and real value to treat that way. The beater 93, that cars owes me nothing, was bought to be a donor or beater car, some times its nice just having a cheap beater and not worrying about it.
