i have a 91 gt with gt40p's shaved .030, explorer intake, x-cam, stock roller block, 70mm t/b, 76 cnl mass air and tube, shorties x-pipe spintechs with 3 inch tails, 24 lb injectors at 45psi with a 190lph pump, and timing at 15*, the car pulls like a freight train, and annihiltes the tires from a standstill and pegs the tach at 7,000 no problem, but when i am getting traction i feel it cutout and hesitate a little around 5500 to 6000 r's. it didnt start untill my oe module went out, so i put a autozone one on it, car ran like ****with that one, i thought maybe my accel coil was too much spark and causing the stock spec mod to break down, so i order an accel from jegs and put that one on, not much better, any suggestions?

plugs are good i just put new ones in sunday, gapped at .54, number two was the only one that was wet when i changed them, i am wondering if my tps is acting up, i had my napa one warrantied and it was bad out of the box, threw cel so i went and bought one at the competitor and cel went off, but wondering if it is still out of range at wot? this gremlin appeared after my motorcraft module failed, so i have been troubleshooting since, when i originally bought the autozone module they called msd for a part number to order me one in and msd claims wells makes theirs which is autozones duralast brand, i will say when i pulled the wells mod off and put the accel on the accel was a bit heavier than the wells unit. i plan on getting a proform ignition box when i get some extra money. but i dont think that is my problem......

What style of plugs? Copper?

I doubt your TPS has anything to do with it but you can check your WOT voltage with the key on, engine off. It should be around 4.5 volts (the EEC sees WOT as ~2.7 volts over the base idle reading).

The PIP, plug wires, plugs themselves (closing the gap might band-aid it), and aforementioned TFI module are things I'd be considering. Getting a spare used but OEM TFI from a J/Y or friends car should not be a biggie.
Also note that if you use too little heatsink grease, the module overheats. If you use too much, it interferes with the TFI performance. Possible in your case?

Good luck.

I would try gapping your plugs down to .042 and back your timing off to 10degrees and work up till you feel it nose over up top, also you could prolly stand to loose a little fuel pressure with the 24's in. Set it at 40 with the line off!

tried the fuel pressure with the line off at 40 and it runs like crap, i am runnig autolite 764's, didnt use too little or too much grease, been playing with timing and this is where it is best. pip is good, it reads accurately when i set the timing with my light. i am wonddering if my pickup coil is breaking up at higher r's. also i switched from the 19lb gen 3's to the 24's in the last week along with the new fuel pump, ran really good at 50psi with the 19's, maybe my fuel pressure reg is returning the fuel at the higher r's. i am going to hook up my gauge and run it today and see what it says when i go for a drive.

I am running a 500+ rwhp setup with stock ingintion and stock TFI module. I was for a while having problems of it and I put the autozone one on it cause they have a life time warrenty and I have replaced it like 3 times but i havent in a while ( knock on wood) I do need a a MSD box but just because of the blower. It would only help to get a msd box but I doubt it is your problem. I would say get a different TFI module

i have the right tube for the injectors, i took peek at my wires and my # 2 wire was cracked by where the boot ends and the wire starts, alsows my only wet plug when i changed them out and it seems to run like it should again thanks for all the advice.
