My 71 Mach1 ram air hood---Which configuration of inlet is correct?

I have seen several treatments of the NACA openings in the 71-72-73 hoods. Mine is not screened, but has holes drilled in some of the honey comb depressions. I have seen some wide open and some closed off with the honey comb plate.
I have all of the ram air assembly that is operational under the hood. I will add a pic of my Mach1 to this thread, if possible.

All 71-73 non-functional scoop hoods had the plastic honeycomb plates in the scoops. All 71-73 functional scoops were wide open, no grille or screening at all. The functional setup had a flapper valve to open and close the inlet just inside the opening.

Thank you, GT. I was pretty sure that was the way it was supposed to be with functional ram air.
Before I took my car in for the final paint, I had it set up just like that. My friend finished it and put the drilled plates in. I will remove them.
