My a/c and heater will only work on low and high now.Any ideas? Kind of hard to get the right temp with only two options.

Mine does not work at all this year. I heard some where that there is a process that you should go through when you first use the a/c each season...I can't recall what that was.

Anyone know???

Are you saying the blower fan will only work in speed 1 and 4? If that is the case sounds like a fan control switch, when the blower motor resistor goes you are left with only the highest speed(4). Now if your fan is only working in the high setting(4) I would replace the blower fan motor resistor.

I would check to see what kind of pressures you have in your ac system. Low freon and too high of pressures like a blockage in the system will cause the AC to not work also.

I just went through this with my 96 cobra. I had not driven the car in over 5 months while it was down for the engine work. My AC compressor would not come on at all. My pressures were extremely high, I ended up flushing my AC condensor to remove the blockage. Pressures went down to normal and the AC works perfectly now.

My old car had a similiar problem: ac would work on 1 and 2, fan would only work on 3 and 4... it was the fan relay, there were a couple cracks in two coils (act as resistors, determine fan speed) I got some magnet wire from radioshack and remade the coils, worked great...

But I'm not sure about the Mustang..

Thats o.k., no matter where I turn my switch to, it only comes out of the defroster. If I want the air vents to blow, nope, defrosters.. Anyone have this problem?

Sounds like you have a vacuum problem. When the HVAC system recieves no vacuum it will default to defrost. I would check to see if your vacuum supply line from the engine bay is still hooked up with the vacuum harness.
