yea i replaced both cables and did as much as i could think of.

Well took a voltmeter got everything hooked backed up. On start off i couldn't see since i was alnoe at the time. But my stock gauge read almost dead after i charged the battery....

-It kept a constent 14.7 with accesories
-with fan and cdplayer it kept btw 14.7(went down to 12.5 on when the switch was hit but jumped back up to 14.7)

-with a a/c and fan ~14.5 it kept jumping

-with everything a/c, lights, warning lights, rear defroster, cdplayer.. this kept 13.5-14.5 wouldn't stay in one place

Also when i hit the throttle my fuel pressure goes from 36 to 32-33...does this mean fuel pump and its being rether loud lately. I replaced it with a stock one laying around last time it went i think ill go for a 255 now. thanks

oh uh .....well that oil spot i mention wasn't oil i put it back on and ran it. I saw the puddle so i stuck a paper towel down there and smelt it. Its fuel, do i have to have a vacum hose on the regulator i never have before but im trying to think why its leakin. I think its coming from regulator or the 3-4 injector

ok, you have a lot going on here. with the vac line attached, your fuel pressure will read a little lower (3-5 psi or so) than with it unattached. i think it is best to run with a vac line on the regulator - once you are running decently again, you could try doing without it (plug the vac line though so you dont have a leak). but for now i would leave the line on the reg.

i would clean up the fuel and watch it (be careful, have a fire extinguisher handy and all that. you have the possibility of a big fire with the leak). see where the fuel leak is coming from. i would not even start the car - just prime the pump a time or two and see if you see fuel leaking. and dont drive the car like this (you know this, i had to say it for future searchers).

your electrical sounds great. im not sure about the part after you charged the battery - the stock gauge is way too much of a POS to use for diagnostics. if you go to the parts store (once the fuel leak is fixed), the test they do should point you into the right direction.

good luck bud. be careful with the fuel leak, etc.

well im saying i dont have the vacumn hose on it and ran it like that and never had a problem. I was told i dont need it since im not running a power adder. But its a paxton fuel regulator and i sat there and watched it. Its coming out where the vacumn hose is suppose to go. Is that suppose to happen or could there be something wrong with the regulator if not ill just plug it up somehow. It only does it after ~3mins are so and more throttle more gas but i turned it off right when i saw it.

thanks for the help =p

oh oh, i gotcha. so fuel is coming out of the regulator (where the vac line attaches)...right.
if so, your reg took a dump. the diaphram in there went bye bye. some of the regulators are rebuildable (Kirbans maybe). if so you could try to rebuild yours (i dont know if yours is rebuildable). but do get a new one or fix yours for sure. pricey little buggers too.

good luck.

that is the thing - most regulators are not rebuildable. it is a 50 cent diaphram that needs to be replaced, but you cant often do it. if you want call the manufacturer and ask tell them the diaphram appears to have gone south and fuel is leaking out of the vac line fitting, and see what they say. otherwise, hunker down and get a new one, unfortunately.

good luck.

You can take it off and pull it apart yourself. If you call Paxton you might be able to get a new diaphram. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much. I have found the best luck with stock like regulators believe it or not, not billet ones. I use the Holley or Crane ones like this one....only $54.88.

I'm not sure you can give them a call at 805-247-0226 and see. I would probably just ditch it and get a new one though.

Yes there is a vaccum hose on the stock one. It is on the top. But I meant by stock type having better luck I mean an adjustable regulator stamped like the stock one instead of a billet one. I hope you got that. You probably did but just checking. The stock replacement one for now will get you by if you have to drive it tommorow.

i would think you can run w/o it, but this is just my guess. you will be running a little more Fuel pressure (no vac to it would be like running at WOT, in terms of what the reg thinks is goin on). i bet it would work short term though - with the increased Fuel pressure, the puter will trim the injector pulse a little. no biggie to get you by.

good luck.

thanks hissin(which you usually respond to my retarded post and dont make fun of me =P ) and everyone else of coarse

Well things changed a little. I went from 36psi without vacum hose and 28 degrees total timing. I switch to a vacum hose and put the chip back in at 16degrees. Which i suppose is better for street use. But this is prob correct but at idle its at 30psi when u go to 2 grand it goes to 32psi and if you let off goes to 26 psi....does that sound right? thanks

ill baby it just incase

16* timing (running with advance mechanisms intact - i.e. you are not running locked timing) sounds a wee bit high. this thread is so long, i cant remember what the current issues are. LOL.

are you using a stock regulator now (a different one than your broken one)? the pressure sounds a little low to me. i have numbers from different cars floating in my head, but i think you should not be any lower than 30 psi. if you have more issues or think there is some starvation, i might go ahead and leave the vac line off the regulator. it could be the reg or the fuel pump itself. to determine which, one has to carefully crimp the return line and watch the pressure.

in any case, if you are gonna take it easy on the car (read not rev it up or make WOT runs), it should be alright for short term use (keep an eye on engine temps and listen for detonation and other signs of leanness).

as for me responding, hey no biggie. were i in a jamb and you were online, i know you and everyone else would do the same!
we had good timing earlier - it was cool that you kept posting after i did earlier, so we kept the info flowing quickly.

good luck with getting the stang healthy again!

well no pinging .. I went up to autozone and got a new stock one and ill return it when i get another one or see if i can fix my old one. I dont get what you mean locked down timing? It doesn't ping or anything at 14-16. Someone told me to do that with my cam (wolverine 1087). I always ran total timing so im not too famaliar with advancing and locked down thanks

or should i stick with a holley?

anyone my friend can get me that aeromotive one for 75. But i mainly need help on the timing kind of scared now(i run only 93 in it). Took it down the street to gas station got on it in 2nd gear from 3-5200 and pulled hard didn't seem to ping or anything. But i also plan on buyign a walbro 255 fuel pump.
