so check this out....my buddy (9eightGTEE) had his car over today (90 lx hatch w/ 347) cause we were putting in bigger 30 lb injectors, 76mm MAF and welding in his new magnaflow mufflers.....anyway my dad came out to help us with some of the fabbing, and when it was all done he asked my buddy if he could take it for a spin.....so hwe go for a ride and he LOVES it...keep in mind that my dad is a die hard chevy guy and swore he'd never own a mustang himself....anyway so hes been having traction problems with his chevelle at teh track, and hes sick of slipping....hes been looking for another drag car project, and he wants to put teh chevelle back to a street car (still with 650 hp )......so now hes looking for an 87-93 notch roller that he can tub, put huge slicks out back, and run low 10's with......my question is what kinda combo would be required to run low 10's in a gutted 2700-2800 lb notch??? gimme some N/A options and some power adder options....turbo is not an option cause he doesnt wanna get started with all that **** but he would consider a s/c.......i was thinking either a 488 for an NA car, or an all forged 347 with a t-trim or some other nice blower with maybe 15 or so lbs of boost help me out guys!!!

it can be done a healthy high compression 408 on the hose

my uncle runs 6.1s N/A (in the 1/8) with a 427 (dart 351 block) in a coupe that weighs in the neighborhood of 2800 pounds on 10.5 inch slicks

there was a yellow sn95 mustang that ran high 10's on a n/a 347 but the guy could drive like a motha. some one posted his video on here and then he came on here and gave a link to a web site that wrote an article on him. he's from nor cal.

The Pro Stock guys are running almost mid-11's in Fox body cars with the stock long block. Meaning at that weight 10's should be fairly easy without tubbing. A stout 347 should get it there. If he's a displacement guy then get a 418 or somthing. ponyboy19 has a 408 which makes 486HP in a 95GT.

At that weight a healthy N/A 351 based stroker should get him there pretty easily.
What kind of budget are we working with?

A friend of mine just made 594.7RWHP with his s/c'd 347. That should be enough for low 10's. http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=676360
