My final review of my 4.10's!

The 4.10's are perfect!
Here is my breakdown after 3 weeks of use:
Pros:
-I have no problems lauching.
-I can start in 1st gear by just releasing the clutch without giving gas. (Better for clutch!)
-All the gears pull very hard.
-1st gear is very usable, not too short at all, non issue.
-Gas milage has stayed the same (and I've been romping on the pedal every time I drive the car.
-No more "eternal" 2nd gear. (I love shifting)
-5th gear on the highway pulls much harder, no need to downshift to pass.
-My exhaust sounds better due to the higher revs. ( sweet)
-Excellent in city (Now in 5th gear at 1500prms instead of 4th at 2000+ with stock 3.27's)

Cons:
-Would have like 4.30's or more but no 6th gear
-I got used to these gears quick, feels like stock now. (until I pull on other stangs )

Misc:
5th gear revs T-45 Tranny:
60 mph..........2,157 rpm
70 mph..........2,516 rpm
80 mph..........2,876 rpm

When I first installed them I posted that they were not what I expected.
I thought that traction and launching were going to be an issue like others had stated.
I was almost disapointed in a way.
The only gear to fear are the 3.73's! You won't like them if your N/A.
I installed these myself at my dad's shop and everything was done to PERFECT specs to the 1/1000in.
No gear whine whatsoever.

gosh-darn-it, after reading that I feel that I must get 4.10's. The plan for me was to go with 3.73's (I do plan on forced induction in the future) but I just can't see myself wasting money on 3.73's. It might be awhile until I heavily mod my car so I guess the best thing to do is to enjoy N/A as much as I can.

4.30's on an automatic = 4.10's on a manual

so maybe if someone did a review on 3.90's on a manual you'd get an idea of 4.10's on an auto

Its good to hear your positive review of 4.10's. I am installing mine this weekend and was worried about problems with traction.

its all good. 4.30s work too. I'm using 3.90s now and want to move to 4.10s or 4.30s, and just want to know how those are. 3.90s arent near as good as I expected, it can still be alot shorter and more fun.

I had some 3.90s being shipped to my house, sent out last Friday & supposed to arrive yesterday w/ my SPEC 2 clutch & Steeda Tri-Ax. Well the gears didn't come so I have to resolve that w/ Pro3 Industries but my car's going to a shop this morning before I can call Pro3 to get the 3 above mentioned parts installed. But since I have no gears I'm gonna have my mechanic overnight some 4.10s from 70-some miles away to be installed tomorrow. So Friday when I pick up my baby she'll be a lot better off. But I won't know how much cuz it takes up to 400 miles to break-in a clutch well & I plan to drive 500 easy miles.

In your sig. it says that you are waiting for a tsb? I have an 04' and wanted to know what is the tsb for? Obviously it is something with the trans and that is why you have not installed the triax.

I have the T-45
As far as revs go, I think they are both the same though.

So traction is no worse with 4.10's? How could that be? Is it your Nittos?

Loss of traction is my biggest fear. I only have 3.27's now and I can't even punch my car from a roll in 1st without losing all traction. I now my Kumho's don't help, but they are 275's on a 9" rim and I only run 3.27's.

I am concerned I won't really enjoy 4.10's because I will never be able to hook on the street. I drive my car 99% of the time on the street. I hit the track one or twice a year.

Nice review.. I feel the same way about my 3.90s. My gas mileage also pretty much stayed the same... except when i first got them I think I was on the loud pedal 24/7

They are a great tire, and seem to stick very very well.
The reason I have not spun is probably because I haven't lauched the car while reving. I'm trying not to roast my Nittos.
I will drop the clutch tonight and let you know how it goes.

Here are your #'s for the 3650 with 4.10's:

5th gear:
60.........1,996
70.........2,329
80.........2,661

Hmmm.....I guess more torque effect is gained with the T-45 since it revs higher.

i dont understand how the gas mileage doesnt go down? i mean doesnt higher rpm= moregas. the only thing i can guess is that u need to apply less pressure to the pedal to get moving.

That is once reason.
The other reason is that you can comfortably drive in 5th in the city at 40-50mph.
5th at 40-50mph revs a lot less than 4th with 3.27's.
Since city driving is what kills gas milage, 4.10's come out ahead.
The highway is the only place where you rev higher; but you are moving at a constant rate (not starting and stopping)
