My First 5.0 help please

I just bought my fisrt 5.0 and love it. 1989 LX vert. But I have some questions that I could use some help on.

1) While driving the cooling sytem reuns at normal range, but notice it gets hot sitting after I shut the motor off.

2) Also it has a super streeter AT. Any infor on this would be great. All I notice is it seems to shift hard. Is that normal?

The temp goes up after you turn car is from not moving air over motor.

The hard shift is a shift kit in the trans.

So is all this normal? I am not a nuts and bolts guy yet! I am going to learn on this car.

Yes its all normal it will shift hard when you have a shift kit in it


i have a B&M shift kit in my AOD and it shifts really hard mine barks the tires when it shifts
