Took the stang to the track for the first time last nite.

R/T.. .701
60 ft.. 2.719
660ft..10.554
MPH..74.465
E.T.. 16.233
MPH..86.407

I could'int get out the hole for s*** but still thought I could do better then that Im at high elevation 5500. even if I get my 60 foot down I don't think I can hit no better then let's say 15.8? What do yoy guy's think?

im guessing thats an auto??, yeah that first 60' is killing you, If its a 5spd by some chance its capable of a real low 2.0-2.3 60', Just practice that launch and shifting, if its an auto, not sure on the times but a shift kit and gears will get you going good.

Your car really dropped off on the top end for some reason. You should be closer to 94mph than 84mph. Your 1/8 time and mph look about right tho. My best run when my car was stock(exhaust and 3.73's only) looked like this,
R/T .741
60' 2.084
330' 6.119
ET 9.443
MPH 73.39

Which should equal mid 14's in the 1/4. Get your 60' time down and mid 9's in the 1/8 should be easy.

5500ft That is killing you big time.

Goto the NHRA site and look to see if you can find a correction factor for your track or one that is close to the same elevation as yours (Denver's track would be close).

I know for 2700ft all ET's are about 0.5sec higher than at sea level.

2.7 60 foot is beyond ridiculous, you must be bogging or spinning, you are dropping the clutch huh?
I was doing 2.4-2.5 60 foots one track day b/c i was dropping the clutch, well next track day I was launching at 2krpm and slipping, and i went down to lots of 2.1 60' foots and even a 2.0 once

you need to learn to launch better.... figure it for every .1 off a 60' you should drop .2 - .3 on your et... SOOOO lets say you pull a 2.2 60' which is half decent... that should drop you a full second off your 1/4 your able to hit low 15's high 14's just work on launching man

Man my first track outing was pretty horrible - I'm at sealevel and I was hitting 2.4 60's @ 15.3. My next track outing I saw my first 2.0 60. It's all about practice and learning how to launch your car so don't be discouraged at all. I think everyone's first trip is more of a learning experience if anything.

Next time out try a few different things (slipping the clutch off the launch). Listen/feel for tire spin and/or have a friend videotape your launch to see what those tires are doing.

Don't forget to have fun - if you do that, you're guaranteed to get better and really enjoy yourself that's what this hobby is all about!

60 60 60 get that 60' foot down... do you have nitto's? if you got drag radials make sure your tire pressure is correct (~15psi, experiment with it) and do a decent burnout, you want to see about 2 secs of smoke. If you dno't have D/R make sure you're getting as much power to the ground as you can. You want to see your 60's under 2.0 if possible. Check your shifting as well, I think someone already mentioned... looks like your 2nd 1/8th mile is dropping off too fast... make sure your engine is in the proper RPM band. Good luck.. takes a bit of doing to get the launch and run right... Have fun..
p.s. if you don't have drag radials I've heard NOT to do a burnout cause it makes em greasy and slippery, and watch out for the water box... don't get water on your front tires, back-up into the box...

Yeah geting off the line was not happening I ran four time's and that was my best. Runing 245's kumho's 711, My clutch has seeing better day's! My friend's keep telling me my old car is faster (98 maxima 5spd ran 15.9) I thought for sure I could prove them wrong. I know my stang is faster then my max was, But now it's stuck in there heads that the stang is weak! Time to do some mod's over the winter.
