My first Track times!!

So I went to the dragstrip on Wednesday night for a street car test and tune. It was my first time running a car at the track, and boy was it a rush. I am hooked:D I got 4 runs in. I drove the car up there(100 miles) so i drove the car relatively easy because i didnt want to break anything and get stranded.

The first run i just left off idle and layed into it, shortshifting somewhat just getting a feel for the track and how the car went.
First pass:
RT 0.442

330 6.429
660 9.612
990 12.344
1320 14.641 @ 97.14

Second pass I launched at about 2000rpms and slipped the clutch.
RT 0.263
60' 2.147
330 5.972
660 9.113
990 11.800
1320 14.070 @ 98.07

Third pass I launched at 3000 rpms and slipped it
RT -0.014:mad:

330 5.957
660 9.070
990 11.737
1320 13.998 @ 98.43

Fourth pass i warmed the tires a little bit more and launched like i did on the third pass.
RT 0.349
60' 2.064
330 5.811
660 8.899

Overall I had a BLAST and didnt care what i ran considering i had to drive the car home and didnt want to drive it to hard. The car definitely has more in it. Next time it will be going on a trailer. These times were with 3/4 tank of gas, spare tire, jack, and a cooler with drinks in it:rlaugh:

Oh almost forgot to add. I am running 245/50/16 nitto DR's. Stock heads, small lunati cam, cobra intake, exhaust, SFC's, 3.55s, deleted A/C. Pretty much all the basic bolt ons

Any input?
Videos should be up soon

I will hopefully have the videos up tomorrow

LOL why are u mad no offence after those first 2 terrible lights i would be happy as hell with -0.014 much closer between your leaving and 60 its killing your ET, id go back to what spot u left on the tree when u went red fine tune it and u might be surprise what your ET might be MHO:shrug:

Just leave when the last yellow light comes on. R/T does not affect any of your times. The clock starts when you leave

Those times are normal for a stock 5.0 with a few bolt ons.

Like mob said the reaction time has nothing at all to do with the ET. The clock doesn't start til you move and trip the beams.

Good ole Lebanon Valley. Not bad for your first time and taking it easy. I would expect a little more mph with a cam and intake but oh well. I would definitely suggest going back with a trailer. It's not worth being the hero that drives to the track haha. Then you're the one sitting in the parking lot til 2am waiting for AAA. Been there twice. I made the mistake of launching my car on the limiter with sticky tires over 100 miles from home at the same track.

But about your passes, you're gonna have to do a much bigger burnout. A 2.0 actually isn't THAT bad for launching as easy as you were with a tiny burnout. I hear nittos like a BIG burnout. Just dump the clutch in 2nd gear and hold the brakes for a few seconds til a good amount of smoke is rolling out. You should be able to get a 1.8 out of it with those tires. What do you run for air pressure in them??

Take some stuff out of it. Front swaybar, fog lights and brackets, anything you can off the front end. Then powershift it like you hate it and that should get you up over 100mph and deep into the 13s. Good luck!

Not bad for the first time up there! You definately have more in it with some more seat time.

I have broken the car at LVD, but luckily had a trailer at my disposal. I usually drive up there, but only ever running street radials!

Yea lower the psi in the tires a little. 2.0 is actually pretty good for street tires, but since you have dr's (even though the nittos suck) you should be able to break 1.9. Since you can get so many runs in a night, id experement a little with the psi, I think 18-20 would be ideal.

I have found that LVD I run 2.0s all day long on my 18" radials. Going to NED I run 1.9s all day with the same launch technique. I ran 17" Nittos one time at NED and did no better than my radials, but I count that as lack of practice.

Common blackened88 i clearly state his 60 foot is killin him, as for his lights my worst 60 foot times are usually connected with some of my worst lights....... just me:Track:

My best 60ft, ET and MPH to date came on a run where noone staged next to me and it took forever for them to light the tree so I took my time, had a 1.somethin reaction time lol. I just wanted to focus on the launch and get it right. Theres no arguement that reaction time doesnt effect ET, never has never will, but it CAN win/loose you the race! Dont worry bout that now tho, get the launch down, focus on your own lane and youll notice the win light in your lane more and more often!

you may have better luck this year at lebanon, the track is much better now(they repaved it). Before this year i never had my car hook at LVD, but i went on opening weekend and cut a 1.6x 60' launching the car on the soft side... I was shocked when it hooked
