I've been working on this one for the last couple of months and I am just about finished. It is a car computer that I have made and I was about to put it in this weekend and I cracked the touchscreen (the actual touch sensor part, not the screen, so it is relatively cheap to replace). I should be installing it this weekend so I will post some updated pics of it in the car. Here is what I have so far. I also installed the amps in the car today so everything is ready to go for when the touchpad replacement comes in. It runs off of a 8GB CF card and runs GPS/Video/MP3/Rear Camera/Radio/Wifi and much more. It sits flush with the dash and looked OEM when I test fit it.

I don't want to take credit for the idea as there have been many that paved the way before me and helped me with mine. Help can be found at www.mp3car.com if you are interested. I plan on adding bluetooth and microphone support for my phone, HD or satellite radio, and ODBII to it in the future as I ran out of money for this little project long ago.

I noticed your running the smaller MB, what kind of cooling you looking at. your normal fans (i.e. 42mm) or you looking at higher end cooling ..?? None the less nice project whats the OS platform your running on ?

Stock cooling suffices just fine. The processor is the new Intel Atom. It is only the size of a fingernail and consumes only 4W of power while still providing more than enough juice to do anything I can throw at it. As far as the OS goes, it is just running a stripped down version of windows XP. I took out a lot of the unnecessary services and junk programs to save space and make it quicker.

I got the new touchpad overlay and installed it. Some new pics before I install it in the car this weekend. Sorry for the crappy pics, something is definitely wrong with my camera as it isn't focusing anymore.

Finished it up this weekend. I couldn't be any happier. I even ran a usb cable (runs a usb hub) to the center console in place of the AUX input.

Sorry about the flash.

I saw one of these that was small enough that the guy put it in the dash of his Sentra and it took the place of his double din radio perfectly that was awesome. Good job on your project let's see how it looks when it's all done.
