my question WHY??

i actually turned down a deal on a blue bullit because of the bullit not having a spoiler and the dorky fast and furious gas cap for a 2002 GT , could have gotten the bullit for the same price , just not for me personally

Looks nice...If I had a coupe, I'd definitely be wingless by now. Just doesn't look right on a vert though....

I'm jealous that those 40th Anniversaries come wingless. I also want the Cobra mirrors. I think I would actually pay more not to have the wing.

Two words: Bullitt intake

I would have either lived with the gas cap, or spent the $50 or whatever to get a regular one.

Yeah, it has the painted foldable mirrors. I bought a wing from a friend, but it's black and I went and priced this paint and I was like. I might go wingless for a while. That ***** ain't cheap.

I don't know what your talking about. That gas cap is bad azz. I had it on my Mineral Grey and when I got the Crimson, it came with me. Looks great. I can send a pic if you want to see one on a red car...

Got the zinc bolts, washers, and nuts from Home Depot. They're just standard large-sized bolts, washers, and nuts. The bolts are the flat-head screwdriver type. I could try to find black-colored bolts, or paint them black, but I think I like the silver-colored ones, as they are. All 4 bolts and washers are the same size. Unfortunately, I don't remember for sure what size the bolts were. Maybe it was 1/4 inch by 3/4 inch. I put one washer underneath each bolt. Each washer is on the outside, on top of the trunk lid.

There's still a little bit of wax or something along the edges of where the wing used to be, which I'm going to try to clean up today. Or maybe the clearcoat has been etched a little bit, so I may need to polish it or paint it a little. If I get it cleaned up today, I'll try to find a way to post pics (even though I don't have a website).

Still, it looks pretty good, unless you are standing about a foot away from it, and then that etching (which I will eliminate) is visible.

Still, I guess some people may prefer black bolts and washers, rather than silver ones.

Sometimes when I look at the stangs that has no wing.. I have this funny feeling in my stomach (a little above the naval) and makes me think of the word "baldness".. has this ever happened to anyone else?

why didnt you just use those covers that go on the license plate bolts? They look much cleaner. I just have to ask why everyone wants to copy the Bullitt but nobody wants to buy one? It will cost you thousands to duplicate it and you still wont have the 2 holograms that go with it. LOTS of Bullitts have real low miles and cost less than a new GT. So why copy? I have a Blue Bullitt and it is so much nicer than a GT.
Just get one you'll be amazed

And you do know the spoiler does nothing right? It is too low and some racers believe that the angle of it actually produces a little lift. Not my words thiers!

Not everyone's out to make their car a Bullitt replica, they just like the wingless look. Plus, I'd prefer to buy a new car.

I had a bullitt fuel door but I sold it when I got my Cobra Rs. My brother had a black bullitt. I will say it had an influence on why I removed my wing, but I was never trying to replicate his car.

Thanks to www.mustangmods.com, I can now post my photos on the internet!

Here are some more photos of the wing delete. Note that 1 of the 4 bolts, visible at the bottom of the bottom-most pic, was defective (the place where you put the flat-head screwdriver is filled in!), so I had to use 2 pliers on that one (one for the bolt, and one for the nut).

I still need to buff out a few small lines that were left by the stock wing, but the lines are hard to see anyway, unless you get really close to it.

Acidpete: I switched the URL of the main photo in my first post, so that it now points to one of my photos on www.mustangmods.com, so you can remove it from your website, if you want to.

Again, some persons may prefer black bolts and washers, or painting them black, but so far I like the silver ones.

i'd be worried about those washers scratching the paint. Hmm, do they make plastic or rubberized washers?
