I have a mystery noise. I get a popping sound upon sharp acceleration
from a dead stop going forward or reverse.

I replaced all my suspension with MM pieces, basically their 'sport box'.

I am running a 4 point K-Member brace over the factory K-Member brace.

The suspension was recently checked by by buddy who is a Ford tech, and again later by
a highly regarded independent suspension specialist who aligned the car (after CC plates were installed)
and triple checked everything was tight. Both said all ok.

That said, any thoughts? I know foxes are a little rattly but this seems
like one that I can lick.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Your torque boxes are ripping. I just welded my cracks up because I had the exact same problem. There are torque box reenforcements available for under $100. I just used some scrap angle iron and my MIG to weld it up. I found my crack when installing subframes. See pic for the torque box strengthening I did.

Fawk man...I thought that installing full length subframes would prevent this!!???

How do I know for sure? Where can I buy that kit? I have two weeks before the Mustang goes into daily driver service for about 6 months so I want to nail this down.

Subframes connectors have nothing to do with the torque boxes. The tear is from the axle twist usually on the passenger side. The boxes are just sheet metal. You may find some re-enforcemets at 50resto.com or even on crapbay (ebay).

Stick your head under the car where the lower control arm goes. If the box is cracked or tearing, you need re-enforcing NOW.

The welding is generally necessary. If you lived close, I would weld them up for you for nothing!

Subframes not fully installed in the pic. These subframes cost about $6.00 in materials. Shipping alone would cost more. I dropped the car off of the jack stands today and Planted a NICE two wheel smoke out. No clunks, no slip, just power.
