as it states, while cruising around 65-70, its not to bad, you can tell its there, but livable, downshift to 4th and take it up to about 95-100 Track and it feels like the car ganna vibrate itself to death. any ideas? already got the wheels balenced, but to no avail. i know it could be a ton of things, but just wondering if mustangs have anything thats "common" that could be causing this before i go throwing money that i dont have at it. thanks in advance.

Is it in the seat of your pants, or through the steering wheel?

Could be the alignment (spelling?).

Have you changed anything lately? When did this start happening?

check your drive shaft bolts. They tend to come loose and can cause that bad vibration. Even if they are just a little loose. They should be torqued to 85 ft lbs.

I have had to replace mine twice in the last two years and my car was doing the same thing.

I would start with the driveshaft...bolts and u-joints. Bolts that are loose would cause it. If there is any play what-so-ever in the u-joints they are bad. Good luck.

:Word:
i had the bad vibs in the car and shifter, changed the driveshaft for the FRRP Al. smooth as my moms volvo now, might be an alignment issue or balljoints as well.

i have a vibration to but it seems to be in the steering column. When you move the steering wheel in an up and down motion it has a little play, and when i brake coming from high speeds it shakes erratically. Anybody have any ideas?

Hijackin' a thread eh ....
Well if it only happens when you brake .. I'm gonna suggest checking the brakes ... try looking at the rotors to see if they're warped.

To the original poster ... vibrations are a B.
The best way to find the culprit when you've got the shakes everywhere is through the process of elimination ... sometimes a compounding of two or more items out of spec can cause the vibration.

To answer your initial question, no there isn't any "most common" issue with vibrations and your Mustang ... I'm with you, they are the most annoying problem to track down.
Could be anything from a harmonic balancer to an old wheel bearing in the diff ... and everything in between

Most likely warped rotors, but can also be front wheel bearings needing repacked or replaced.
