I was curious if anyone has put a navagation system with gps and a display screen in their classic stang? I don't know if I would even want to do it but I'm just wondering if anyone has looked into it?
i just picked one up for my 06' and its a striaght forward install, no need to tap into a speed sensor anymore. I might get the same Valor NVG670T unit for my FB.
Check out http://www.mp3car.com/ forums, the whole site is dedicated to car computer systems, Gps,Music,Sat Radio,Video etc. I'm in the planning stages of installing one in my 67 coupe, using a xenarc 8.4" touchscreen and an Aopen minipc in the trunk. Once you take out the old radio and bezel your left with a decent sized cavity to work with.
I think I worked out how I would do it. I am going to make a custom console that resembles the 67 console in shape with some modern twists. I made a Soldworks modal to help me get everything the way I want it. The only problem is I am in Japan and my car is back home in the good old US. I will hopefully be home in a couple months so I can start building it. I would be interested in seeing some pictures also of screens in a classic mustang. the main thing I worry about is it will look to out of place.
I am planning on doing a Jensen in-dash DVD player in my 68. it won't have nav though. My plan is to build a shelby style console and stick it in there. hopefully i will have it done soon and i can post some picks
