Hello all, I just picked up a 1989 LX 5.0 5 speed with 167000 original miles and the car is completely stock. Still has the air silencer and the factory exhaust. I would like to make a sleeper out of this car in hopes of running 12 second 1/4 mile times. I want to keep all of the stock components including the A/C and Smog all I want someone to see when they pop the hood is Ford Stock engine.

Here is my plan:

Port and polish the factory intake (Extrude Hone)
65mm FRPP Throttle body and EGR
C&L 73 mm Mass air
24lb injectors
E-7 Thunder Heads
1.7 Roller Rockers
Anderson Motor Sports N41 Camshaft
190 LPH Fuel pump
FRPP Coil and wire set
FRPP shorty Headers
BBK X pipe and a Magnaflow cat back exhaust
Underdrive pullies
3 core radiator
Pro Form Electric fan
HI Volume Water Pump
306 Short Block with Speed Pro Pistons

What type of HP power will I be looking at with this setup and what kind of 1/4 mile times. Also has anyone had experience with a ported factory intake and ported factory heads.

Looks like a good setup man, no clue on horse... maybe just under 300??? Neways, I would say with some gear you should be mid 12's as a guestimate. For the sleeper theme possibly some LT's with a catted highflow H pipe for power but stealth. Just what I would do... Good luck

definetly think about some control arms and springs to get the power to the ground and you should have no problem gettin 12's
