I'm about to order the March alternator bracket. The one that removes the tensioner completely with the stock alternator bracket. I'm getting it from summitracing.com, part # MCH-1465.

What would be the belt size I would need? I don't have the smog pump and the A/c is gone with the P/s pump relocated to the top.

Anybody know?

Thanks.

Also, is over tightening the belt a big concern?

Darn it. I guess I have to go with trail and error.

New question:

I have the kit now and I see that I have to remove some of the old water pump bolts and replace them with the new ones they gave me. I'm not gonna have a problem with my pump gasket trying to break apart will I?

Try the string trick wrap a string around the pullies the way
you want them to go. Then measure the string.

Well I went out and broke one of the water pump bolts. Its not any of the ones that go into the timing chain so I should be able to drill it out tomorrow. It's just the PITA factory I'm pissed off about. Also because of my FMS a/c eliminator bracket I have to buy a longer bolt.

I got the kit mostly for looks. Sheding a pound or two can't hurt either.

The belt size that worked for me is 675k6. It fitted snug even before adjusting the tension rod. When the belt stretches it should be fine.

I painted the engine bay black too.
