This past weekend let us see the Need for Speed Ford Mustang in the limelight of the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR event at Homestead, and we’ve got to say, they are “doing it right”. Piloted by one of the upcoming (March 2014) movie’s stars, Ramon Rodriguez, the Need for Speed Mustang made its public appearance decked out in police car trim, including some stunning silver paint, blue striping, roof mounted patrol lights, 22″ custom wheels, and let’s not forget…900 horses under the hood.

In addition to all the go-fast goodies and styling, this video game Mustang is also going to help pace the franchise toward the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang next spring (2014)…something we’re sure you’ve all heard plenty of by now. If you haven’t, well then, welcome to Earth.

“The heritage of Mustang is unlike any other automobile in America,” said Ford car marketing manager Steve Ling. “With Mustang being a central character in this racing-oriented movie, it seems only fitting to showcase the car here at Homestead and help serve as a great springboard to our various celebrations recognizing 50 years of Mustang in 2014.”

That’s awesome news, Ford, and what’s cool also, is the fact they will also have a couple of other novel pace cars to set the NASCAR stage this season: an all-new Ford F-150 Tremor and the forthcoming Ford Mustang GT500 to pace the Ford EcoBoost 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event and NASCAR Nationwide Series Ford EcoBoost 300, respectively.
