Looking for some help...I have an 01 GT with pretty much all the bolt-ons as well as cams. Recently I have been having fuel pressure problems...I will describe in as much detail as possible as to what is happening. First the car had been driven for about 10 to 15 minutes so the engine temp was hot. Under normal driving conditions the car runs fine, idles fine etc. I wanted to “get on it” a little to see how it would run. Before I got on it I checked the fuel pressure gauge…it was just below 40…I pulled onto a highway and stepped on the gas. I didn’t slam the gas pedal to the floor…I quickly but gradually pressed the gas pedal to the floor. First gear was fine…I shifted about 5, when I was in second, as I pressed the pedal to the floor the pressure was dropping as I was pressing the pedal…by the time I got to 5 grand and had the pedal to the floor the fuel pressure was at 0 and you could definitely feel the car starting to die…I couldn’t get the car over 5,000 at all…it just wouldn’t go and I was afraid to push it. When I took my foot off the gas to shift to third the pressure went straight back up to 40 and I had the exact same problem as I did in second gear. The problem was the same in 4th gear as well. I drove a couple more miles and tried it again and had the exact same problem. This problem seems to come and go as it pleases, It doesn't happen all the time, but there is definitely a problem. I tried to get on it a little bit this morning while the engine was not up to temp and it really didn’t seem to act up but there was too much traffic and couldn’t give it a real test. Could it be a problem with the fuel pump, fuel rails, injectors, MAF, or maybe something in my Superchip tuning is acting up? The fuel filter was just replaced so we can rule that out. Thanks for any suggestions.
