So some back ground im traditionally a Chevy guy I like old carb'd square bodies, anyhow I basically inherited a 87 mustang 5.0 convertible. Price was right so y not. I was told it had a bad fuel pump and it has been sitting for 6 yrs. Pulled it home got it in my garage checked the fluids topped off the coolant since it was low. Put a fresh battery in cleaned battery terminals selonoid terminals starter terminals and grounds. Pulled the air box and tube off gave it a shot of either assuming pump is bad it should fire on ether. Just cranks. Pull cap n rotor some corrosion cleaned it up with some sand paper tried it again still nothing. Pulled a plug laid it on the manifold n had my helper crank. No spark, coil is getting 12.6 volts, fuel pump checked fords dead man switch in trunk it was good so pulled connector tested wires had .002 of a volt so no power there I'm sure it needs more. Stumbled across a thread for recalls on the ignition switch, so I pulled the bottom panels off, to find the switch and connector have been replaced already. Pulled off kick panels on driver n passenger side checked fuses and all connectors I could find. Found computer relay it clicks when u turn on the key, so assuming it's good. The relay under drivers seat does nothing when u toggle the key on n off and the relay on passenger side fender well also does nothing when toggled off n on. Horn, power windows, radio, and flashers also don't work, those are not a big deal but I'm reluctant to change the fuel pump and coil because I don't wana throw parts at it for no reason. Stumped don't know where to begin with it, any insight would be appreciated tu
