NEED HELP, after plenum install

I just got done installing my accufab plenum with the accufab 70mm throttle body. Everything went smooth and I double checked all the connections. When I started the car it seemed a little upset with me but after 5 min it settled down. I took it for a drive and if I pull a gear up to 3000rpm (for example) and I let off, the car holds itself at 3000rpm and very slowly goes down. IS THIS NORMAL? Also when I come to a stop the car is idleing at 1100 instead of 800 before. Can you guys help me out.

I installed the Accufab plenum on mine and it does the same thing.

How long have you had yours installed for. If it has been a while, have you noticed problems while driving and how was the performance increase?

Check your throttle linkage cable. It might be catching the vacuum hose that comes out of the back of the plenum. I have a C&L plenum, and if I had not noticed this, then I would have had the same problem that you are having. To fix the problem use some washers(to act as spacers) under the linkage bracket that connects to the plenum. This should fix your problem!!

No why, it idles at 1100. What would 1500 mean?

I did it and mine kinna hangs at 1500 rpms then drops to the idle speed

Id check what Y2K said, the throttle cable could be caught on something. I know some people complain about the time it takes some of the 99+ cars to rev down, but Ive never had a problem with mine. It does sound like the throttle cable could be getting snagged since it revs down very slowly and is idling higher. Let us know what you find out, and what you think about it performance wise. Im thinking of purchasing the same setup later

Throttle Body

Guys, if you have a late model GT then there are 3 things you have to do so the idle will be correct.

1. Diconnect the battery
2. If the new TB has an idle adjustment screw it has to be closed. Late model stangs stock TB do not have any idle adjustment screw just a pluged hole.
3. Set the TPS to .98 with a meter.

After this is done the car should settle down and within a few days run just fine.

I didn't have to do any of that w/ the Accufab 75mm TB. Just make sure the rear plenum vacuum hose is clear of both Throttle Cable lines.
