Hello, hopefully someone can help me with this ASAP!!! My dad and I are working on my car in the morning. It's a 94 GT. One of the things we will be doing is removing (correct me if I'm wrong please) what I think is an AC line. One of the previous owners of my poor car did some wierd stuff. One of them being cutting up the metal hoses to my ac condenser. (My smog pump and ac compressor are disconnected from my accessory belt btw)

Anyway now that you understand my car a bit. There is a metal hose running alongside the passenger side wall of the engine, about an inch or 2 from my headers. It is cut next to my ac condenser and runs into my radiator on the passenger side. I can't find an answer on Google so I hope one of you guys can help me with this ASAP.

I just want to know if I detach the line from radiator, will it leak any coolant?

To my knowledge it isn't leaking right now. But it is bouncing around and touching the header. Half the insulation material has already burned off on the header side of the hose. I just want to do some preventative maintenance and take it off completely. Again any help ASAP please

If it is, as I suspect, the ac line it should connect to the condenser in front of the radiator.
the trans cooler line connects to the radiator.
is your car auto or stick?

A photo would help.

Trans cooloer (if AODE) would connect on driver's side. The AC line doesn't connect to the radiator, but the condenser in front of the radiator. However you already stated it was disconnected from here.

Take a pic and attach it so we can see

Pic 1 is the line itself
Pic 2 is where it's cut by the condenser
And pic 3 is where it connects to the radiator

Is this the line you are talking about? If so, that is the A/C line that goes into the condenser, not the radiator.

Oppps, you beat me to it. Yes, that's your A/C line. You will need an AC/Fuel line disconnect tool to disconnect the line from the condenser.

EDIT: Here's a good write up on the A/C system removal that goes over the connections points, tools needed, ect. Might be a good resource for you.

As said. That’s The ac line

What you call the condenser is the evaporator.

The condenser is the smaller radiator in front of your cooling radiator.

Ok I understand. But what I need to know is will anything leak if I remove it from the condenser. Its already cut so I don't think it will. But I want to be sure.

No. If it’s already cut the gas gas escaped already. There might be some residual oil inside the lines.
