I have a 89 LX and I originally pulled my harness from the computer and tried to hook up a harness from a 90 and found that its not compatible. So I just pulled it out and put mine back in and I started the car and I have no dash lights , my factory tach and other gyuages aren't working, my high beam light is on when my lights are on low beam and if I put them on high beam than the light goes out. I hope I didnt fry the computer by hooking it back up with the battery still hooked up. The only thing I did differnt was grounded one ground that has an orange wire to the firewall instead of the motor. It is still grounded to metal though. Also with the key off if I turn on my headlights I can hear my fuel pump turn on. Can someone please help me?:bang:

Check your fuses and fusible links. Some of them might have blown during the process. It's always a good idea to unhook the battery before doing something like that. I might have something to do with that ground wire too. Are you sure it's ground?

Sure sounds like you pissed your computer off. NEVER hook up or disconnect a computer with the battery hooked up. I would try something as simple as disconnecting your battery and wait about 2-3 minutes. Disconnect your computer again and make sure you didn't bend over and short any pins together. Make sure you check both sides male & female for any pushed pins also. Reconnect the computer with some dielectric grease and then connect your battery back up. DO NOT turn your ignition on right away. Wait about another 2-3 minutes and then give her a go.
