Ok, so heres the deal, I have a 2000 GT, I went to start it and it stalled right away. The car will keep running if I keep my foot on the gas to keep the RPM's high. Any ideas before I bring it to the shop? Any help will be great, thanks!

This is 99.9% likely to be the IAC.

For an temp fix give it a couple taps with long handle screw driver.

For a longer term fix clean it out with carb cleaner.

For the real fix replace it for $50.

Idle air control valve. I just had to replace mine a couple of weeks ago. Took all of 5-10 mins to install. Part was around 50 bucks or so at Napa.

IAC = Idle Air Control

Easier to replace than a tire!

Do a forum search for this very common topic...

Yup, IAC. I just replaced mine about a month ago. I think it took 10 minutes. Easy as pie! However, I got the real thing (direct from Ford) and it cost $75. Your call.
