Today I was heading to the store and as i started to stop, i noticed the tachometer i have on my dash went from 2500rpm to 0rpm when i hit the breaks and went back up when i let off. So then when i came to a total stop, the car started running strangely. It wasn't rough but its almost like it was loaping twice as fast as it usually does, its kinda hard to explain the exact sound (plus my exhaust drones very loud so it was hard to hear). But then a few seconds later it died and would not start. When i did try to start it, the fuel pump (i think) sounded very weird and weak (usually its real loud when its charging up or whatever) and it would barely start to crank but it wouldn't turn over.
I tried for about 20 min and by that time the fuel pump had started to sound almost like normal again (its hard to tell though) but it still wouldn't turn over any more than it had on the first try so i had it towed home.
Im not a very good mechanic or problem diagnoser (my dad + friends mostly built this car with me learning along the way) so i have no idea what the problem is, im hoping its some kind of electrical problem that's easy to fix, but i would really really appreciate your help
Oh i guess i should tell you my mods, 1990 mustang aod, 331 stroker 4bolt block, 30lb injectors, 255lph, trickflow heads, e303, shift kit, and other misc like stall, exhaust, intake and gears that have no affiliation with this prob
Thanks
Eric
