has anyone had this problem??? took car out for a ride, every time I shifted the car would rev high while I pushed the clutch in to shift, then a little later it stuck WIDE open, had to shut car off so I wouldn't blow the motor, checked the throttle body, its moves freely, no sticking at all, seems like the cable, is getting hung up, could it just be that I need a new cable? Please any help would be great!! I nearly @#it my pants, LOL. Thanks for any feedback.

mine was doing the same thing last week....the car would pretty much drive itself and sometimes it would rev up 2 4,000rpm and stay there....i put fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and it hasnt done it since. hope this helps at all

if your cable looks bad (chafed, etc), you might want to pull out the DMM and see if you are using it as a ground. when there is insufficient ground, stuff like throttle, clutch, etc cables get recruited as ground cables. this shortens their life by a good bit.

good luck.

mine did the same thing, it went WOT when I pushed the clutch in and the brake. I shut down quickly and pulled into a parking spot, looked down and what do you know, the corner of the floor mat was on the gas pedal and snaked behind the brake. SO when I hit the brake it pushed the gas pedal down at the same time. Just thought I would throw that in there and check your floor mats in case you didnt already, unless you dont have any.

Yep, the same thing happened to me....once. Needless to say, I no longer drive with my drivers side floor mat.

mine does it when ever it is cold and by cold i mean sub freezing

same here....but as it warms up/driving it around a little bit, it loosens it out.....strange...i'm going to try the remedies these gentlemen (and ladies) suggested.....perhaps they'll help my situation a bit.
