Need help here- new gear- leaking

Need help here Just put a 4.10 gear in and the pinion seal was leaking. Put new seal in and it is still leaking, any ideas on how to correct this problem

was the pinion bearing seated properly?

yes we double checked everything, appears to be leaking from the bottom of the seal.

Try a thin film of RTV around the metal rim of the seal when you drive it in, or if it's leaking at the rubber lip, check the pinion flange for burrs or a groove. Also make sure the breather hole in the axle housing isn't stopped up.
