NEED HELP IDing A PART THAT I FRIED ON MY HEADERS...

ok picture yourself standing in front of the car looking at the engine...now lok to the back left and follow a thick group of wires (wrapped) that runs from just under the left wiper (still looking from front) and runs along the upper left side of the engine compartment...it splits a little before the fenderwell hole for my intake...i recently fryd a small grey box filled with some kinda electrical stuff that was attached to the end of this wire...can anyone tell me what it was...what it did...and if i need it...thanks alot!!! ........also, why would my stock motor with headers offroad x and catback ...backfire after i give it alitlle gas...it happens all the time...thanks again

it would help if you could get a pic for us.

the only thing i can think of that would touch the pass. header would be the Air Injection bypass valves.

It almost sounds like you're talking about the wide open throttle relay since it's by the hole in the inner fender behind the air box area. Why on earth it would wind up near the headers is beyond me though. Yeah, any pics or measurements or numbers off of it would help.

haha...i would def have posted a pic if there was anything left of it to take a picture of...im gonna dig out the hanes and look it up...thanks for your help
