Need help naming this part

Hey everyone, I need some help. I stripped this wire a bit too short, and I can't connect it to my battery. I wanted to know the name of this wire to get a replacement I looked around on the internet, and nothing came up i don't have much experience with cars or wiring. This came off of a '99 Mustang 3.8

Unfortunately, no, this red wire connects to the fuse box, then goes back to the battery terminal

Ok... It looks a "Bob" to me. "Robert" if you want to be formal.

Seriously, go to the parts store and pick up the tools, wire, and terminals necessary to make a new one.

I mentioned in the original post that I didn't have much experience with cars or wiring. I would be going to the parts store looking for what exactly, I couldn't even tell you what that metal part is. I've already gone to Advance Auto and AutoZone, and no one could find that exact part, nor lead me in the direction of making a new one.

Here is an example of the tools and parts I would use to build another cable:

Mix and match as you please. I selected items as examples that would be adequate but there are plenty of different brands etc...

If you've never soldered before, checkout some youtube videos on how it's done. It's not hard at all.

The heat gun is for the Butt Connectors. The ones I listed have solder in them already.

About the only other thing I would suggest is a tube of dielectric grease for coating connections before applying the shrink tube.

Hint: Don't forget to put the shrink tube over the wire [before] you have affixed the connector. You will probably forget anyway... but maybe only once.

And you could go to a pic a part or regular junkyard and buy one.

The most important things to know about soldering:

You heat the components, not the solder.
You apply the solder to the components, not the solder tip.
When the solder flows, you're done.

Keep the solder tip clean.
Keep a clean coat of fresh solder on the tip when applying it to heat components.

Refer to the above after you've seen your fist soldering video and you will see what I mean.

Resin solder is your friend.
