I have a auto 2000 mustang gt.... I had the fuel pump replaced and my gas gauge is at 3 quarters of a tank when the car is running but moves when you turn it on & off... it worked before this...
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS... I NEED MY GAS GAUGE BACK
The pickup is either stuck or the cable is damaged. I would bet the the pickup is the problem. Either way, you have to drop the tank. It's not hard to do (I've done it in 15 minutes with a couple of guys) but having a lift really helps. It's tough to do with jackstands though unless you can get it 2-3 feet off the ground.
