I went to Atlanta last weekend for a family event, and ended up having my rental Charger broken into. The thieves made off with about $400 in tools that I brought to fix a family member's car, my radar detector, an FM modulator, power inverter, and the ONLY set of keys to my Mustang, Saturn, and mailbox (apartment). I just paid the $200 deductible for the damages done to the rental, so finances are really tight now. What would be the cheapest way to getting new keys for my car? I can deal without a FOB for now, but I really need the car to get to work. I read that I could possibly program this FOB from my old Explorer to the Mustang, so I will probably do that. I just need to get the key situation taken care of ASAP, and for as cheap as possible. I've never had to go through this before, so I don't know what to do.

If you have no keys then you'll most likely need to take the vin# and proof of ownership to a dealer and have a new key made. A locksmith may be able to cut you a key but without the PATS chip, it won't be good for anything other than unlockig the doors. Sorry, not sure how much it costs.

you can order some blanks off of amazon. i ordered one with a remote for like 30 bucks. You can get it cut for free but getting it programmed is expensive. The Ford place where i live wants 85 dollars to program my blank. sorry for your luck man.

Well, I called around to a few stealerships today, and the average going rate seems to be between $110 and $200 for two keys, and I have to have the car towed in. Thank god I parked with my wheels straight. Now I have to come up with a couple FOBs. Anyone have any extra FOBs they want to get rid of?
