Need new spark plug wires and spark plug which ones to go with.

I have almost burned a hole in one of my spark plug wires. I have always had the Ford Motorsports one but this time I want better ones. I want one I don't have to cut to make them fit. Who makes the best wires for our cars. I want ones with direct fit. Also which spark plugs should I go with.

You're naturally aspirated, right? Go with Autolite 25's gapped at .054, less than a dollar a plug at Wally World and they get the job done more than adaquately.

As far as wires, you've got some choices.

You know about the FMS wires, so I won't go over those.

I've run a set of Taylor wires, they were around $40. Nothing wrong with them performance wise, but I had trouble ripping the terminals off of them (yes, I used dielectric grease).

Now, I only use MSD Superconductors. They're pricey, above $80, but they're the absolute lowest ohm rated wires you can buy. Near 50 ohms as they're advertised. The terminals are double crimped to prevent pulling them off the wire, and the boots can be bent to taylor your needs. The boots are also beefy, so they're easy to grab. They're specific cut to fit the motor.

I have had the same problem with my MSD 8.5 super condutors. I have ripped 2 off already (I use dielectric grease as well) they are adjustable but I think thats there weak piont because they do lock on to the spark plug real good they have both broken off from the terminals. I am some what starting to regret buying them just for that reason $80 and there tearing off from the terminal has me some what bitter. They are a direct fit tho I'll give them that they don't spaggetti(sp) around like the FMS wire but then again the FMS never ripped from the terminals.

Mine has Taylor wires on it.... they've been on the car for a while now and I'm thinking of replacing them with new ones. Keep the posts coming!

i love my livewires. these things have sat on my header for a few days and not major burns cause they are so heavily insulated. plus they look cool as hell....lil pricey but i love them

I like the holley wires, but only had one set. The only performance shops in the area didn't have them, so now have the fms.

Are anyone of those made to fit just ours cars. So I don't have to do any cut to made them fit better. I hate how long my FMS ones are.

As far as the holley wires, they come preassembled and no other necesarry cuting or anything.

I just bought the MSD Superconductors. I got them for 69.99 from summit. Thanks for the help guys. Does it really matter what spark plug I use?

Careful with those wires and pulling them off like I posted before I have ripped two terminals off already these wire are only a few months old. They really hold one to the plugs. Plugs motorcraft or autolite will work just fine.
