I am going to be doing a few more upgrades to my engine bay & I want to see what you guys think.

First off, for my car, I have sort of a red & black accent theme going since my interior & brakes are red. I want everything in the engine bay to be either red, black, silver, or polished, so 1st off, the blue silicon boots on the cold air intake will be replaced with black ones. I will also be installing an MSD 6AL, cap & rotor, which are also red, & my optima is red, but Im not sure what color FRPP plug wires I want to get. I know I have FRPP red wires already, but they need to be replaced because they are a tad bit weathered...

Do you guys think I should go with the red wires again, or black wires to break up the red a bit? I will also get wire looms so I can taylor the wires a bit to clean them up...

Also, I am thinking about replacing the Mac cold air intake all together once I install my C&L maf. I am looking into a C&L inlet pipe, or an Anderson Motorsport N/A powerpipe. Which one is better for my setup, & is this even worth doing?

The C&L is roughly $99, & the Anderson pipe is around $185....

Anderson power pipe... Not sure if this will work with my C&L maf?

C&L true flow inlet pipe...I like this, but I dont like the stock air box, not to mention I dont have the stock box anymore...

I will also be springing for a fluidyne radiator, electric fan, & a 3G alternator upgrade, so this will also clean up the bay a bit more since there wont be anymore ugly fan shroud, but this will be later on this year...

What do you guys think?

Since a lot of the stuff in your engine bay is already black/silver, I would try to stick to that theme. Also, I think it's kind of cheesy when people try to match everything to the same color (i.e. the interior to the engine bay). When they do that, things start to go overboard and don't turn out the way you want them to. As they say: variety is the spice of life. As far the cold air goes, I would just leave the one you have and use your new MAF with that, along with replacing the blue boots.

Thanks for the suggestions....I here ya on the cheesy part, but the blue silicone boots look cheesy IMO, as would blue plug wires or wire loom.... Nothing wrong with a color theme right?

your bay is looking great dustin, i just recently did the same thing to mine, but i still have a long way to go before i get to that perfect balance between show and go... i changed my silicone couplings on the CAI to black and did a red MSD cap and rotor with new black FRPP plug wires... still have to paint brackets/fan shroud and clean the bay and etc...

for your bay i recommend the new red wires and the red cap and rotor... i like the idea of a color theme, and the black couplings do wonders... the blue is just lame... i regret buying the ford racing blue silicone hoses, i thought they were cool at the time but now i hate them, haha... also how about some fancy battery terminals and a black 3G upgrade from PA performance? worth every penny...

i don't think anderson power pipes work with the C&L... anderson is VERY specific with what kind of MAF you can run with their pipes, i didn't get one because i just bought my C&L maf... and also it wouldn't clear my strut tower brace... to me strut tower brace > 1 or 2 more horsepower any day of the week

wow, i typed a lot... sorry haha

Thanks Chris!!!

I was thinking red would look good, as it does already, but these wires are BEAT to $h!t!!! When I bought the motor from a buddy, the car he had it in had been sitting for a couple of years, & I think the rats had got to the wires & they are a bit chewed up in a few spots....

Anyhow, can you post pics of your bay again & send me the link to the black silicon couplings please. Also, if my 76MM C&L will work with the CAI I already have, I will just keep it....
