I've seen this paint scheme, but can't find a picture. It's a GT350 theme, blue Le Mans stripes on white, with two narrow red stripes coming over the driver's fender from wheel well to hood, angled. Know what I mean? Please post or link to site with pic. Thanks!

I'm trying to remember what the red stripes significance was, something to do with racing in Europe as I recall.

Not to be ungrateful, but where are the red fender stripes?

SoCal, I searched the internet for a pic as I know I've seen them before, but came up empty.

Closest thing I have on my computer.

(Stangnet sucks for attachments. I always have to modify everything.)

EDIT:
Damn! I have a really good pic of a '65 GT350R with the red hash marks, and another of a red '66 GT350 with white ones. They were parked together at the same show, but I didn't use a digital camera and don't have a scanner.
The one's on the Shelbys are skinnier than the ones on that hardtop above.

well its not a mustang and not even a ford for that matter, but take a look at my sig, my vette has them.

I have seen them on mustang before, but only on blue cars with the white le mans stripes.

From what I have been told they are actually called 'rookie stripes' and were used by race teams to quickly visually identify cars/drivers with the same overall paint scheme by having different color stripes on the fendors.

Here is pic of Shelby Cobra with them:

I've seen them as well on Mustangs. Unfortunately I don't have a pic either. My understanding is that these stripes were used to quickly distinguish the difference between vehicles on the same team with the same paint jobs.

The single, large stripe running across the front of the Cobra was used for the same reasons as the two smaller stripes you're thinking of.

You are correct as Dave MacDonald who drove the Cobra pictured with stripe certainly was not a rookie.
