Need some help

Ok, I bought the car about 3 weeks ago with the mods in sig. Well, when driving it home I would notice when I got on it, it would go then when it hit 3500 rpms it would really kick in. I thought maybe thats how the cam is, its made for more of top end. Also found out it was only running a 80 amp alt so I switched to a 130 3g cobra alt and did all the updated wiring. Also noticed that the dizzy cap clamp was broke so I ordered a new lower peice and dizzy cap with rotor to throw on there. There was on sparkplug wire touching the header so I replaced all the wires with msd wires to rule them out. So now to my problem. Everytime I start the car and drive it about 2-3 mins in to the drive the car acts like its runnin on 6-7 cylinders and if you go wot while its doing this it will backfire into the intake, but after it does it once while driving it, it will not do it again as long as the car stays started. If you run it then shut it off for a couple of mins and take it would for a drive it will do it again, but only once per drive cycle. Also I pulled the codes because the cel will come on and 30 secs later turn off and came up with 67< cause I tested the car in gear, 81,82,85,84 which are all egr codes. The egr sensor is hooked up but everything on it is plugged off.(owner before me did it) He also took off the smog pump but left 2 hi-flow cats. The car is drivable so if anyone has any seggestions please let me know although I dont want to just throw parts at it. Sorry for the long post.

no one has heard of this or had it happen? I will eventually track it down and will post it up just incase this happens to anyone else.
